Searching and Browsing Platform Objects
Cortex includes a built-in Platform data source that exposes Cortex's own objects - the same objects listed under Objects in the Platform section of the left navigation. Platform objects are searched and browsed through the same experience used for archive records.
The Platform search and browse entries are shown when your Cortex deployment is licensed for Platform and the Cortex database connection has write access. The Browse entry is visible to Cortex administrators.
Searching Platform Objects
Select Search in the Platform navigation group. The shared search page opens, headed Search Platform Objects, which asks you to choose an object, enter keywords, and add search filters.
- In the Object dropdown, select the object you want to search.
- Enter your keywords in the quick search box.
- If you need to narrow the results further, click Add condition and build filters the same way you would for an archive search - see Searching.
- Run the search, then double-click a row in the results to open the record.
The Saved Searches area on this page reopens saved searches that were created for Platform records.
Quick Search on Platform Objects
Platform objects do not have a full-text index in the Cortex database, so keyword search runs in the LIKE-based fallback across the object's text fields:
- The quick search box is labelled Quick Search (Fallback Mode).
- The search settings menu offers Fallback Mode (Slow) alongside Match Any Keyword, Match All Entered Keywords, and Match Exact Phrase.
- Cortex displays the message "Full-text search isn't available for this table. Quick Search is using Fallback Mode (Slow), which may take longer."
Because a fallback search scans the object's text columns rather than using an index, it can take longer than an indexed keyword search on large objects. If the selected object has no text fields, the quick search box is hidden for that object - you can still search it using search conditions.
Browsing Platform Objects
Select Browse in the Platform navigation group to open the Browse Objects page, which lists the Platform objects available in your deployment.
- Use the Search objects box to filter the list by name, and Clear to reset the filter.
- Select an object to open its record grid, then double-click a row to open the record.
The Objects menu in the Platform navigation lists the same objects and opens the same record grids.
