Log in as the built-in Administrator account
When you first set up Internal authentication, you will need to start Cortex and log in as the account 'cortex.admin'. The password will also be 'cortex.admin', and you will be immediately prompted to change the password upon logging into this account.
You can then navigate to the Users Management page and add any other accounts, as needed.
From the Users Management page, you can set a user's password by editing their user account, and you can also mark that they will need to reset their password on their next log in, which will give them the same password reset prompt you received when first logging in to the cortex.admin account for the first time.
Resetting user's passwords
As a best practice, if you need to reset a user's password, we recommend setting it to something you can share with them from the Users Management page, and then checking the box to force them to change it to something more secure.
At this time, there is not a way for a user to reset their own password if they're not able to log in, using Cortex Internal authentication; an Admin user will need to do this for them.
Disabling the cortex.admin account
If you try to delete the cortex.admin account, it will end up getting re-created the next time the app is started. If you don't want this account to be used after setting up all of your other user accounts, set its password to something nobody knows and leave it.
In a future version, a feature will be added to disable specific user accounts without deleting them, including the built in cortex.admin account.
